I originally wrote this song back in the mid to late 80s. I recorded the song in my home studio at the time, and I did the vocals. I really liked the song, but my singing did it no favors.

Fast forward 30 some years, and after I retired and decided to get back into writing and recording, I hadn't forgotten about this song. But now, focusing strictly on instrumentals, I decided to rewrite the song without vocals. It's on my second album, Unheard Of, as Loves Gone By.

And even though I like that arrangement, I really like the lyrics and still wanted to do a version with vocals. Enter Dreamtonic's Synthesizer V Studio 2. It's a nice bit of kit that plugs into my recording setup. You give it a set of lyrics and melody line and choose a voice, and it automatically generates your vocals. Yes, it's AI, but the voices are real voices sampled from real human singers. The AI comes in when it's time to merge the voice, the melody and the lyrics and output a vocal line that sounds just like a human. Even better than a human if you compare it to my vocals. ;-p It's taken me 20 hours over two days to learn the package, create a good vocal line and remix the song. It may be AI, but it ain't cheating.

Anyway, give it a listen. Back in the day, I wrote 50+ songs with vocals. Most of them are dated or just plain bad, but there are a few that I'd like to recreate. And I think Synth V Studio 2 offers an excellent solution for doing just that.
